Refer with confidence

Elisabeth Ferlic, MD, accepts adult urology referrals for women and men: routine general urology, along with the complex voiding dysfunction and neuro-urology cases that currently have no dedicated referral destination in the Salt Lake Valley. Elisabeth Ferlic, MD

Fellowship trained in voiding dysfunction/neurourology and female pelvic floor reconstruction

Dr. Ferlic is a board-certified urologist, fellowship-trained in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery and voiding dysfunction, a fellowship that included neuro-urology. One other urologist in Utah holds this combination. It matters for referrals because the pelvic specialists most primary care physicians default to are gynecology-trained. They practice well within their scope, but that scope does not include neurogenic bladder, male incontinence, or urologic reconstruction; Dr. Ferlic's training does. She performs reconstructive pelvic surgery, provides long-term neurogenic bladder management, and practices general urology, so a patient referred to her can complete the full workup in one practice rather than being sent on to a second specialist.

  • Board certification: American Board of Urology, 2016
  • Fellowship: Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery / Voiding Dysfunction, Metro Urology, St. Paul, Minnesota
  • Residency: Urology, Mayo Clinic Arizona (chief resident)
  • Medical school: Tulane University School of Medicine
  • Prior practice: 11 years in practice across Utah, Intermountain Urological Institute, 2014 to 2025

Conditions we accept

Referrals are accepted for routine general urology through tertiary-level pelvic floor and neurogenic cases. If you are unsure whether a patient fits, send the inquiry anyway. We will give you a direct answer, and if another practice is a better fit for the patient, we will say so and suggest one.

Complex voiding dysfunction: multifactorial retention, incomplete emptying, failed prior management

Neurogenic bladder: MS, Parkinson's, spinal cord injury, spina bifida, post-stroke

Refractory overactive bladder: failed behavioral therapy and anticholinergics/beta-3 agonists; candidates for bladder Botox or sacral neuromodulation

Pelvic organ prolapse: evaluation through reconstructive surgical management

Recurrent urinary tract infection: structured workup and a long-term prevention strategy

Stress urinary incontinence: women and men, including post-prostatectomy incontinence

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH): medical management through procedural options

General urology: kidney stones, hematuria workup, elevated PSA evaluation, vasectomy

A three-step referral process

Your staff sends the referral once. Our office manages scheduling from there and reports back on every patient you send.

Send the referral

Send your referral note, relevant records, and imaging via [FAX NUMBER TBD] or [REFERRAL PORTAL / SECURE EMAIL TBD — John to establish]. A demographic sheet and your working diagnosis are enough to start. If we need anything else, we will request it directly rather than returning the referral.

We contact your patient

Our office calls the patient directly to schedule, so your staff does not need to follow up on the appointment. Urgent clinical concerns are triaged by Dr. Ferlic herself.

You get a consult note back

After the visit, you receive a consult note with findings, the treatment plan, and a clear statement of which issues we are managing and which remain with you. Co-management is our standard practice.

For hospital administrators: if you are looking for Dr. Ferlic's hospitalist or call coverage services, please contact [email].

Here’s what our great patients say

I am so grateful that Dr Ferlic was the doctor available to take care of my emergency kidney stone surgery. I had met with multiple urologists prior to needing this surgery and none of them seemed as compassionate or as competent and Dr. Ferlic.
